What brand do you stock in terms of cleaning machines?

Astral Hygiene Ltd are a recognised distributor for many leading cleaning machine brands. These include, Taski, Numatic, Truvox and Sebo. We generally only stock professional level cleaning machines rather than domestic cleaning machines.

What is the difference between domestic and professional cleaning machines?

The difference is really the way in which there are used. Professional cleaning machines are brought out of the cupboard every single day and are used for long periods of time. This mean that the motors in them must be able to accomplish this continued unyielding use. Whereas domestic cleaning machines are generally pulled out of the cupboard once, twice or potentially three times per week and used for short bursts of time, which generally means the domestic usage is more forgiving on the motor.

So, for examples, when the cleaning operative is using a large cleaning machine to scrub or buff along the corridor in a hospital, this machine is generally battery powered, and can generally go far as 5, 10 or 15 hours per day (depending on the model).

Obviously with the domestic cleaning machine you’re not going to get one that is battery powered which will go for that length of time – so that is in essence the difference. The way in which these machines undertake the task is also a difference, the scrubber dryer in a large hospital would have to introduce water, scrub, and then suck the water up in one pass of the machine to prevent anybody from falling or tripping or slipping on the water. You would never get that in a domestic machine, so that is another difference.

So what kind of machines do Astral Hygiene provide?

Astral Hygiene provide various different kinds of machines from regular professional vacuums, to silent vacuums with whisper technology (great for care homes!), to lightweight buffing and polishing machines, to heavyweight ride-on scrubber dryers, to single disc machines, to slow or high speed machines – so lots of different options. Do Astral Hygiene provide training on the cleaning machine has been sold?

Yes; Astral provides training and a question and answer session, as a matter of course with every single machine that we sell regardless of the UK location. As we partner with and distribute for large global organisations, our partnership has put an infrastructure in place that allows us to send the Subject Matter Expert from the manufacturer to do the training directly with the customer.

This allows us to extend our knowledge to every single end user ensuring they know exactly what the machine can and can’t do, what it’s great at and what you shouldn’t be using it for so that everybody knows exactly how to get the best out of this machine. And importantly how every customer can extract every piece of value this machine can offer to your premises.

Do you do a machine specifically for difficult to reach areas?

We do a few ranges of backpack machines, which are absolutely great for cleaning stairs in particular; or potentially for the corners of rooms, where the operator is doing several rooms. The Taski Dorsalino is one of the ranges we supply, or we have an alternative Numatic Machine RSV130-11 which is another option. Both are good professional level machines and are excellent in terms of ergonomics and suction.

Do you provide warranty cover?

Yes, as we are an authorised distributor for every brand that we sell we do honour and make it easy for every customer to get repairs, return and resolve any issues with any machine. Every machine we supply is guaranteed for at least one year, and local sales we will actually come and pick it up from you personally using our own vehicle fleet, and national sales we arrange a courier to come and collect it.

Other sites do list professional level machines and I would encourage anybody who is looking to buy to enquire as to whether they are an authorised distributor; simply because only authorised distributors can get the manufacturers help in resolving any issues with faulty machines. We would urge you to only buy from authorised distributors to avoid any headaches in the future.

Do you sell bags for the machine that you supply, as in hoover bags etc?

Yes, we stock a wide range of hoover bags. From your generic Henry bags to the more difficult to get hold of Sebo, Taski or Numatic Bags.

What about pads, do you do them?

Yes of course we sell pads, and we do stock a wide range in terms of colours and size. So can usually ship them out on a next day service. From black for removing polish to white for the application of polish we can usually help out. For the smaller machines at 11” to the larger machines at 20” + we stock a wide range so can get them out to you really quickly.

Do you sell spare parts for the machines?

Yes we do; and in fact we have a contact form on our website specifically geared around getting spare parts from us. The more expensive machines that we sell, do you tend to last longer, and to enable that longevity of life, you may have to obtain spare parts.

So on the Taski Spare Parts page of our website, you will find a specific spare part contact form. Obtaining spare parts for your Taski machine can only be done through an authorised Taski distributor like ourselves. Simply fill in the form and will come back to you. We don’t discriminate who you bought your machine from if you need a spare Taski part just give us a call, or fill in the form which you can find here.
